Hiking is super on Saba. There a variety of trails on the island.
Easy ones….difficult ones….there are more than 15 trails at the moment and every year Saba makes new trails. The most trails you can walk on your one. Some trails are difficult and dangerous. You need a guide for it. Go to the trail shop in Windwardside and make an appointment for that trail with James or his college guide. He is a very nice guy and can tell you a lot of stories about Saba and the historie…also about pirates….
Our favorite trail is Sandy Cruz…..wauw….with breathtaking views, big big trees…..

Saba is no mosquito’s…sometimes you see one or two, but they are lost and come from Statia or Sint Maarten. Saba Government has a special program for the cistern (where the water is stored which falls out of the Heaven) of each house to prevent them….the little bastards.
There are no dangerous or macabre animals on Saba. There is only 1 specie of a snake; a little black one, but he or she is totally harmless….. sometimes … if you are lucky you can see a big lizard… if you are lucky……..
